Ten minutes. Exit 41, left at the lights and its on the left across from Mascoma Bank. Enjoy!
Not really.. No Children's menu but they can accommodate if given advance notice.
Wonderful dining experience. Very upscale menu at a reasonable cost in a very comfortable atmosphere that makes you feel like you have a world class chef at home with you. If you are in Littleton, NH you DON'T want to miss this place!
Severely overpriced for the atmosphere and menu selection. Stuffy and old
I have experienced many restaurants in Manhattan and Boston before moving here to the White Mountains. Without a doubt, Chef Val has created the most beautiful and delicious meals I have ever experienced!.
Quaint intiment atmosphere, very nice meal, perfect portions, a must experience when in Northern New Hampshire.
Excellent American Cuisine. Reservations Reqd
Real food with attention to detail and presentation. A simple, unpretentious atmosphere--austere in comparison to the delicious and elegant plates being served. The wait before the main course was a bit long, considering the restaurant wasn't full on the night we were there. The service was efficient and well-meaning, but lacked some elegance. (This is a pet peeve, real table service is an art and requires training. This would require just a touch of humility and great strides could be made!) Overall, a first rate dining experience that seemed to hail from a simpler time. I feel grateful for authenticity that this team brings to the neighborhood.
This place is not for everyone, and picky eaters should be very cautious. A very small menu which changes constantly, but everything is sumptuous, albeit European portions. You're not going to go hungry, but don't expect typical amounts of food. Good for a date or a celebration.
The food here is excellent! The chef is a real pro. I have always enjoyed all my meals. This is where we go when we want to treatourselves to a truly delicious meal.
The staff was very kind and funny, it felt like eating at a friend's house, if said friend was an outstanding cook. The only downside to the lovely food, atmosphere and staff was that the non-alcoholic beverages were lacking and nothing special. But this was a very small tarnish on an all around excellent experience.
Awesome kitchen, everything was just delicious, also a cozy and friendly place
Ambience service and prices very reasonable
Fabulous food, excellent "Special Occasion" place. Higher dollar, higher cuisine than typical local tastes, but world-class cuisine, cozy atmosphere, fabulous staff, nice wine & beer choices. Highly recommend!
Outstanding from beginning to end. Dishes were wonderfully conceived, prepared and presented. Extremely friendly service. Definitely worth the drive if you're anywhere close to the White Mtns. Highly recommended.
Amazing people, amazing atmosphere, and absolutely amazing food! And lots of it! TimBir Alley is a gem.
Food and service was very good. The only negative was the sound.Brick walls magnified conversations.
Food was amazing
Excellent food! Large portions, but leave room for dessert! Great owners, very lovely.
Unfortunately not as good as prior reviews stated. Lobster bisque looked fabulous but seasoned with too much salt which diminished the flavor. My wife had the tenderloin and according to her delicious. I had the fettuccine, not very good. The place was a little dreary and cold. Waiter very pleasant except while we were finishing dessert he turned the lights up and untucked his shirt, it was clear it was time for us to go. Our reservations were at 7:30, at 8:55 we left 5 minutes before closing. We were happy to leave. We're not going back.
I would rate this one star but my wife would rate it 4 stars so I split the difference. The wild mushroom soup was good. The salad was only greens and slices of cheese. I had the salmon and my wife had lamb. She liked her meal and had no complaints. I had the salmon which was overcooked and bland. All plates have scattered vegetables - all small portions - and you have no choice. My wife kind of liked this but I was not happy about it. I would have preferred to choose a vegetable that I liked. Service was ok but there were only 3 tables busy during our visit. This is not a 5 star restaurant.
Very fine food and nice people. The chef is really a master.
Best place ever!
This place was amazing. Simple menu, with a great chef. You can't go wrong with this formula. Servers were great, just not as knowledge as the chef was. You could tell in the food, he/she loves to make you smile with amazing textures and contrasting flavor profiles. Would recommend to anyone in the area.
Excellent food and presentation. I have eaten in some of the best resturants in the USA from Oregon to Florida, NY to California and this rates in the top 100.
This may have been the best meal I have ever had in a restaurant. Val is a chef who expertly highlights the flavors of the fresh, high quality ingredients he chooses. Truly a gem in the north country.
Amazing food, fantastic ambiance, great wine selection, all fresh and local ingredients. Make a reservation and enjoy the experience. Perfect for our Wedding/Valentine's Day dinner.
Delicious and friendly. If you arrive late in the evening, they might be sold out of the popular dishes.
Amazing meal. Well worth the trip.
Terrific dining experience! Excellent food & service, warm & friendly hospitality (you don't find that everywhere!). Will definitely return & recommend. Intimate in size, reservations are key.
Extremely easy going, casual dining combined with terrific food, including the baking done by Nancy Fortin, chef Val Fortin's wife. Elegant meals without any of the pretensions that sometimes accompany such fare. My wife was thinking of ordering one meal, but balked because she didn't care for the side dish. So, she ordered something significantly more expensive. Chef Fortin came out and offered to change the side dish. He was willing to lose a little money to make her happy. Only one example of how eager Val and Nancy were to please - and for the record I'm not friends with them. Just a customer.
Excellent!
It is a awsome place so it is nice to have a conversation with your dinner party. They don't put the tables close, the staff are very friendly. Food was awsome I will definitely go back again and recommend it to everyone
Great job to the two man team at this restaurant! The chef did a wonderful job with the food for my entire party. All 5 of us were impressed with the food and service. I had the scallops which were cooked to perfection! When dining here you MUST order dessert. We all tried something different and they all looked amazing. I had the hazelnut pate dessert and it is now my favorite! Kudos for a job well done!
For a little bistro in a small New Hampshire tourist town, it was just "too". Too much stuff I didn't ask for on my plate; purees, veggies, and LOTS of parsley. Too quiet, we could barely hear our server speak. Too focused on details to be friendly, hardly a word or smile that didn't have anything to do with our food. Too self important for walk-ins, we watched them turn away a family of four and turn their backs on them when there were clearly open tables. Too hard to pay cash or check (?) only. Too slow, our meal took more than two hours. Overall it was one of those pretentious places that leaves you feeling like they were doing you a favor by letting you eat there.
Delicious food and most gracious and welcoming hosts!
Looking forward to our next visit! The food is both delicious and presented beautifully. It is a very small restaurant, so reservations are a must. Being such a small establishment, the menu is also small, but I would say they have very nice choices, and there seems to be something for everyone. It is definitely not for picky eaters or small children. They serve wine and beer only. The husband/wife owners are very friendly. He is a very talented and creative chef. Their menu is seasonal, which is always a plus. The best in Littleton, I would say.
Great dining experience, great food and great people, also very affordable
Great food but if you are looking for a Bud light with your meal forget this place. No domestic beer
This was my first fine dining experience. Atmosphere was great! Cool art on the walls and friendly hostess and waitress. Prices were a little high for my taste, but it was worth it for an enjoyable birthday dinner. My one criticism is the food did take a long time to reach us, but I've been told that is normal for fine dining.
Tasty food with a nice presentation.
Loved the food and the owners, they were very welcoming.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere with exceptional food. Everything we ate was delicious. Friendly and accomodating service. We'll be back!
Came as a group of 7, and there wasn't much we did not order...everything was delicious and done with attention to detail. It was an absolute pleasure getting along with the service staff and chef and they made sure to make us laugh as with filled our bellies. Came here because it was highly rated online, and they definitely deserves the praise.
